Pizzeria La Rosa is an Italian restaurant operating in New Rochelle, NY right outside of the Bronx. Pizzeria La Rosa operates out of an old building that was an Italian bread bakery back in the early 1900s. The oven they use is over 100 years old! With this project, I wanted to showcase the tradition and beauty of Chef Matt Di Gesu’s American Italian dishes. Matt invited me to come and hang out with him for the day to document his process in the kitchen. I was able to see how orders were executed from start to finish. La Rosa’s food is a work of art and I wanted to capture Matt’s art through photography.
